Anza Borrego Is Still A Go!
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
WE ARE Still GOING!
MARCH 26, 2011 – $48.00 PER PERSON
Our next single day outing is to the desert of Anza Borrego. Anza Borrego is known for its beautiful array of spring flowers dotting the desert landscape during this time of the year. We think it is an excellent day tour to enjoy this side of nature. Actually, this is the best time of the year to visit the California desert because the heat is not as oppressive. Further, we will visit Old Temecula, CA and visit one of the wineries as well as a stop at the local farmers market in the city.
NOTE: For those in the inland empire area, the bus will stop at McDonald's at approximately 9:15 AM. The McDonald's is located off Milliiken Ave. just north of the San Bernardino (10) freeway. The exact address is 4310 Mills Cir., Ontario, CA 91764. This will also be our coffee break before moving on to Anza Borrego Desert State Park.
April 19, 2011 Departure
Our next International tour is a lengthy and extraordinary adventure to South America. During these 17 days of trekking around South America, we will explore the great cultures of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Peru. We end our tour in Peru with a visit to MACHU PICCHU. Many consider Machu Picchu one of the significant archeological discoveries of our time by voting it as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide internet poll. Upon our return, we will be pleased to share with you the many exhilarating details of this grand South America expedition.
Allensworth State Park
The recent tour to Allensworth State Park was an excellent single day outing. The weather cooperated and we were blessed with good food and excellent entertainment provided by Keith Williams and Evelyn Finister. Several months ago there were expressed concerns about locating a dairy farm across the highway from Allensworth and how the stench would affect attendance. The official disposition of the dairy application is not known, however, we observed newly planted trees, suggesting that the land in question is now used for an orchard.
“Going Home 2013”
“GOING HOME 2013” is receiving considerable attention as we begin making plans to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation with a grand pilgrimage to the Motherland. The incredible details will be available soon. If you ever desired to visit the great continent of Africa, 2013 can be your year!
There will be several tours on the schedule, including a departure to the "Big Apple on December 30, to Celebrate New Year in Times Square. Afterwards, we travel to Washington, D. C. on January 1, 2013, and the anniversary of that historic document, to participate in activities that will surely be planned on that day. After an overnight stay in Washington, D. C., we board our flight for Senegal and The Gambia, Africa. These countries, along with Ghana, Africa, still have standing remnants evidencing the harshness of Slave trading.
